Vermont is studying the potential impacts of marijuana legalization and regulation, and now the state wants to hear from you! This Wednesday, November 12 (2014), the state will hold a public hearing on the issue from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. The hearing will be conducted by Vermont Interactive Technologies (VIT), allowing members of the public to testify remotely from sites in Bennington, Brattleboro, Middlebury, Montpelier, Newport, Randolph Center, Springfield, St. Albans, and Williston. Rand Corporation to Consult on Marijuana Study in Vermont (2014)

Beginning this week, the Rand Corporation will send representatives to Vermont to work with the state’s Secretary of Administration on a study of the effects of taxing and regulating marijuana similarly to alcohol, the Manchester Journal reports. This research was mandated by an amendment to a bill that made several improvements to Vermont’s medical marijuana law.
